I am so delighted to be able to invite you to my yearly Print Workshop and Nature retreat on the island where I was born – the Åland Islands in Scandinavia. Join me for this very special opportunity to experience my paradise; immerse yourself in nature, enjoy the calm and natural beauty. I grew up in this archipelago, and to this I return every summer. Being there makes me peaceful and very, very happy. This is also where I recharge and find inspiration for most of my organic designs, patterns and motifs.
The Print Workshop Retreat will include workshop days with me in the barn where we gather inspiration and motifs from the beautiful surroundings and then translate them into patterns and motifs. Together we will explore three different simple printing techniques such as block printing and stenciling and create lovely items and memories on paper and fabric to take home and cherish. Absolutely no art or design background is required, just a willingness to explore and play.
You will have time to create, explore, swim in the brackish ocean, take saunas under the midnight sun, hike, kayak, make lovely things with your hands, meet new lovely and interesting friends from all over the world and simply ‘be’ in this rather special and gorgeous part of the world. It is such a magical and special experience, I promise.

We will also enjoy incredible meals that are prepared exclusively for us by the most talented and passionate chefs who only use fresh and local, and mostly organic ingredients, often grown on the little farm on Silverskär, and fish is caught by hand in the ocean that surrounds us, berries and mushrooms harvested by locals and neighbors. and Yes, of course they are happy to accommodate any special diets, in the most delicious way -You will not be disappointed. Their food is truly amazing and a very big part of this experience.
Silverskär is truly a magical place: it is a completely private 40-acre island in the Åland archipelago. Silverskär used to be a working farm with cows and pigs, and has been fully converted to a unique and comfortable homestay, with the old barn and the main house, and some charming cottages where you can immerse yourself in this very rare and special setting. We will have this whole special and beautiful island all to ourselves - incredible !
The stunning archipelago of Åland lies in between Sweden and Finland and is made up of over 6000 islands and ‘skerries’. This is a unique opportunity to experience one of the places I treasure the most, nature and the closeness to the ocean, to explore creativity, share stories and impressions and create special items and memories. Many of our past participants and friends returns back year after year, to experience this truly incredibly place and retreat .

IMPORTANT. PLEASE READ CAREFULLY :
These retreats book really rather fast, last year they sold out in 17 minutes ( ! ) so make sure to be right on time to secure your spot. You will be asked to fill out a simple but important registration form that only takes a couple of minutes. Please make sure to have your passport on hand. Once we have received your form, we will send you a PayPal invoice as soon as we can that same afternoon. First come first serve .
Important : as soon as you receive your invoice please attend to it right away. Only when you have paid this deposit are you fully registered and have secured your spot in the retreat. Emily is my workshop cordinator and she will attend to all applications in the order they come in. She alone will attend to this and there are many, many applications that pour in at the same time, she will attend to all of them as soon as she possibly can.Please be sure to check your email inbox throughout the day for communication for her. Thank you so much for your patience with this process.
So many of you who have joined me for this retreat have wished for even more time, so for the second week 16-21 July, I have added an extra day so we can get even more special time on this magical archipelago. On that extra day I am delighted to share with you my favorite spots for nature, craft and food and I am also so happy to bring you to my summer studio; my little charming play house where I create and make.

The cost of Lotta’s Print Workshop Retreats
9 - 13 July 2025 USD$4390
16 - 21 July 2025 USD$4950
Airfare is not included
Price is per person, based on potential double occupancy. Each room is within a small cottage on the island with a shared bathroom in each. A guaranteed private room with a private bathroom is an additional fee of $500 due at time of registration.
Significant sweeties, family members and other special people and friends are so very much welcome to join us on Silverskär, even if they do not want to participate in the Print Workshop. The cost is $US3650 for Week One ( 9-13 July 2025 ) and $US4250 for Week Two ( 16-21 July 2025 ). No children under 16 years for safety reasons. Each of these retreats involves advanced planning and preparation of many people, staff, supplies, and several means of transportation. In order to proceed with each workshop a certain amount of participants is needed. In the unlikely event that we do not have enough participants we reserve the right to consolidate the workshops / and or cancel. We will notify you of any changes or cancellations by February 15 2025.
